Sunshine, Daisies, Buttermellow

I thought I was being clever with the name of this blog post – being a sly reference to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone but then I found out that today is the 20th anniversary of the book’s publication! The Harry Potter book series were the first books I fell in love with. The writing and the creativity just transformed me to Hogwarts and made me feel everything the characters went through. I waited in lines at midnight when the later books came out and then spent all night reading until morning. J.K. Rowling made me fall in love with reading and she is now someone I look up to. Did you know that she is the ONLY PERSON IN HISTORY to lose her billionnaire status because of charitable giving? Yes, you read that correctly. Not only is she amazingly talented but she is giving.

So this outfit! I found this lovely yellow knit sweater a couple weeks ago (similar here and here). It’s super light and perfect for summer. I styled it two ways in the post. One is a more casual, every day look while the second way I styled the top is a more professional / wear to work outfit. For the more casual style, I paired the top with Levi’s “mom jeans” (on sale!!), my G.H. Bass magenta loafers (here is the newer style and colors), and my turquoise Baublebar earrings. I loved pairing all of these bright colors together, it seemed perfect for the season.

For the other, more professional outfit I kept it mostly black and sleek. I added pearl earrings, black pants and a couple dainty necklaces. I kept the outfit fun with the addition of the polka dot pumps.

I am so excited for some summer trips I have coming up! I hope everyone is having a fantastic June!
